Mt. Kim Martial Art Burke’s Fight For Fitness program is designed for busy adults and teenagers who would like to gain martial arts knowledge and improve their physical fitness. Similar to a cardio kickboxing class, you don’t need a uniform or belt to practice martial arts and workout with this program. What sets us apart from other kickboxing gyms is the detailed technical instruction. Our instructors are experts who can help you listen to your body and adapt to fit your personal needs.

Learn how to protect yourself physically in aggressive situations as well as how to avoid physical confrontations in the first place. We have adapted taekwondo techniques for realistic and effective self-defense application. Much like our traditional taekwondo classes, the techniques are easy to learn and safe to practice. Taekwondo is known for its kicks and hand techniques in the standing position. If the attack happens to go to the ground, our trademark take-downs along with strong grappling and submissions will allow you to successfully defend yourself.
An extremely powerful benefit of martial arts is the stress relief. You will find that the stress relieving effects of martial arts exercises are not only uplifting, they are also addictive! When you are new to martial arts or any physical exercise, the hardest part is the beginning. After a week or two, (or maybe even less) you should begin feeling the effects of decreased stress, increased focus, and higher energy. The strength of will and clarity of thought that is developed in martial art class transfers directly into your day-to-day life.
No need to hire a babysitter! Our children’s activity room is close by and supplied with board games, building toys, coloring books, and more to pass the time during the 45 minute class. You can always be a few feet away.
